At Axiom, we want to unlock every bit of event data so teams can operate more effectively. With our platform, organizations can ingest billions of events and efficiently store and query that data effortlessly. To keep moving forward, we’re constantly looking for ways to improve our product to provide the best possible experience.
Today, we’re excited to launch a refreshed look and feel for Axiom, providing the foundation for powerful new features through a design system that will allow our team to build, iterate and ship more quickly. These changes were the result of deep research, time spent with our customers, and a vision to build a modern, accessible platform that will continue to evolve.
Laying fresh foundations
Our refresh started with updating our design system components to promote consistency across the platform. These refreshed and reusable base components will allow our team to build, ship, and iterate more quickly so we can continue pushing Axiom forward.
We know that Axiom is the kind of tool you may need to jump on late into the evening, so we’re excited to share that these foundational elements have been built with dark mode compatibility in mind. We have an early preview of dark mode available on request, and expect general availability very soon.
Revising our navigation
In addition to refreshing our design system components, we also revised our navigation. The core navigation bar moved from the left of the screen to the top, which allows for a truly full-screen experience without sacrificing ease of navigation. This is especially great for views in Axiom, like dashboards, where more real-estate means more space for monitoring important events.
Beyond the positioning of the navigation bar, this new navigation has been designed to be more intuitive and user-friendly. Over time, we have plans to merge elements to make day-to-day flows even more seamless.
Shaping a new platform layout
As part of Axiom’s new look, we shaped a new platform layout that makes space for features that will be landing soon. These changes provide complete feature parity with the previous design and will not impact existing customer data or workflows.
We've also made significant improvements to wayfinding and visual design, making it easier for newcomers to understand and use the platform.
Next steps
We’re excited about these changes and hope they’ll add up to a significant improvement for our users. As always, we’re committed to working with customers to continue improving the platform, and we welcome feedback and collaboration around this refresh in our Discord community. Join us there and request a sneak peek of dark mode. Until next time!
